Dr. Michael R. Gombosh

Dr. Michael R. Gombosh is a highly experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon who is double Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has received numerous medical awards and recognition in his many years in practice.

He is one of only a small percentage of orthopaedic surgeons who hold board certification in both Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. Dr. Gombosh earned his Medical Doctorate with Research Distinction from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. After earning his medical degree, he completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami where he served as Chief Resident.

Upon completion, he sought further expertise in his fellowship at the highly acclaimed Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, which is one of the top-ranked orthopaedic hospitals in the country. While there, his training focused on both operative and non-operative treatment of sports-related injuries as well as extensive training in Regenerative Medicine alternatives to keep his patients active and pain-free while avoiding surgery when possible.

He has a vast experience in treating athletes at all levels from high school, college, and professional athletes to weekend warriors. He uses his expertise to treat both athletic injuries as well as everyday problems including arthritis that are limiting patient’s function and quality of life. Working with an active patient population, he truly understands the overall mental, social and health benefits of being active, and the role recreational activities and sports play in his patients’ lives.

As a surgeon who is also highly educated and experienced in Regenerative Medicine, Dr. Gombosh is able to offer patients a wide variety of treatment options that span the entire treatment spectrum from non-invasive treatments to surgical solutions and everything in-between. This is a unique skill set to find as most orthopaedic doctors are either surgeons or specialize in non-operative orthopaedics, whereas Dr. Gombosh specializes in both.
